Bonjour,
Refaire Cherbourg, Ouessant, etc

Wait and see

Hermes Wreck Dive
HMS Hermes was the world's first purpose built air craft carrier. Keel laid in 1918, launched in 1919 and she was commissioned in 1925. First designed to carry 20 air crafts. She had a distinguished carrier and was strengthening the allied forces in Ceylon during the 2nd world war. Japanese imperial naval fleet commanded by Admiral Nagumo Gucci who lead the attack of Pearl Harbor had entered the bay of Bengal on the 2nd of April 1942 after sinking HMS Repulse and HMS Prince of whales, the intention of the Japanese fleet was to destroy British Naval assets. Soon late admiral Sir James Someville ordered HMS Hermes and many other ship to sail to Gan islands. Hermes could not sail since she was under going repairs in Trincomalee dry dock. After the Easter Sunday raid 5th of April 1942, On the 9th of April 1942 about 80 - 100 Carrier borne air crafts from three Japanese air craft carriers escorted by two battle ship had taken to the sky's of the east coast of Sri Lanka and attacked the British ships in the Trincomalee harbor. Hermes had subsequently sailed to the south escorted by the destroyer Vampire. The absence of the Hermes had been a surprise to the Japanese. One of the Japanese scout planed flying south had spotted the Hermes. In a few mins about 80 - 100 Japanese air crafts were engaging there prime target "HMS Hermes which was not ready for battle. Hermes is supposed to have taken over 40 directs hits. When the first few bombs fell on the deck of the Hermes the water loo had begun. Hermes finally sank and reached the sea bed off the coast of Batticaloa with in about 30 mins, The entire complement had been about 700. The brave Capt. R.J Onslaw, 19 officers and 282 sailors sacrificed their lives. 400 were rescued by the Hospital ship VITA. 23 sailors had managed to swim ashore which is about 8.5 km. Three days later 3 heavily decomposed bodies were found ashore. As per name tags they were R.B.Vatcher, L.B Levis, the third body could not be identified since the name tag was missing. The three bodies are now resting in the Trincomalee war Cemetery.

Salut
http://www.scubadiving.hr/en/loc4.htm
